Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

October Surprise

I get to go back to work to day.  Oh... shit.
I also climbed on board my scale... Holy Shit!  Now I will be the first to admit I've grown lax in both my cardio and my free weight training.  Some of this has to do with my shift change.  I used to get all of my workouts done before I went to work.  Now I need to get them done when I get home.  Some days the laziness just takes over.  I've been working to break these bad habits and slowly, I've been turning myself into an evening person rather than a morning person.  Changing years of routine is difficult.
Yesterday I put a down payment on a new car.  A Subaru.  And I'm buying this one.  For the past 16 years I've leased my vehicles.  Leasing is a nice way to get a lot of car for not a lot of money.  Of course, there is always a car payment when you lease.  I'm tired of car payments.  The real curse of leasing is that you have no trade-in value.  Well, maybe about $100, depending upon the model car you've been leasing.  There's not much there to knock down the price, which means you need to have a fairly decent down payment.  I do.  So yesterday afternoon I stopped in at my bank and transferred money from one of my IRA's into my checking.  The agent I talked was obviously Pro-Lease.  Her comment was "well, if you can afford it, leasing is great for those who want to avoid upkeep."  I said nothing, even though sharp retorts in spite of the flashing, neon objections almost blinding my thought processes.  Why would you want to be indebted to a car company for the rest of your life?  is buying a set of tires every three or four years that terrible?  Or was she just suffering from fiscal laziness?
I saw the stock market failed to rebound yesterday.  That's not good for your 401k's.
And Stormy Daniels had her defamation lawsuit kicked out of the court system.  What Stormy needs to understand is that her role in dethroning the Idiot Jerk in the White House is now over.  She needs to move on and stop trying to profit from her experience.  She needs to be thankful for her book royalties.  She needs to stop saying "what's in it for me."  Move on, Stormy, move on.
The midterms are approaching.  We have not had our October Surprise.  There's is always an October Surprise.  Like Comey and the Clinton emails.  We've only 3 weeks to go.  I can hardly wait.

    1. Precisely. Trying to sponge off her momentary fame will only weaken her credibility.

  2. I'm ready for any October surprise that weakens Trump. He ought to be in single digits approval numbers by now but apparently 30% or more of our fellow citizens are deplorable idiots.

    1. McConnell saying the need to go after Social Security & Medicare to pay for the tax cut is a nice beginning.
