I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

In Control

Saturday.  Today is the beginning of my weekend which means it's time to catch up on the housework.  I've got one load of laundry (T-shirts... I go through a lot of T-shirts) in the washer and four more lining the upstairs hallway.  I need to pick up somethings at the supermarket and get gas before everybody else tries to do the same thing.  The yard needs to be cleaned.  I should do free weights today, but I might try to get another ride in since that's what kicks in the neurotransmitters.
Yesterday there was an indecisive family looking at vinyl plank flooring.  I greeted them and spent about 5 minutes with them before I left them alone with their inabilities.  This was obvious when the daughter started saying "this goes with my cabinets, but this color goes with my appliances, but this color over here would really go well with my walls."  When she started bringing up her friends, and using the floors in their kitchens as a comparison, I knew her brain had become completely untethered from reality.
And speaking of untethered... how about those advertisers running from Laura Ingraham... ain't that sweet!  She's decided she needs an 'Easter Break.'  If you ask her, I'm sure she'll tell you that eleven companies pulling their advertising from Faux News has nothing to do with her decision.  Nope, she'll explain how she's chosen this week to make room for her family, right in the middle of a boycott.  Ingraham is a prime example of how Conservatives totally fail to understand America.  A majority of people are telling her advertisers she's an asswipe, and those advertisers are listening because that majority is the group that buys their products.  When given the choice of losing revenue or telling Faux News that Laura Ingraham is an asswipe, they're going to tell Faux News she's an asswipe.  Will she learn anything?  Absolutely not.  She hates the majority.  Having them very publicly telling Faux News she's an asswipe?  That's like having millions of Liberal needles shoved up under her phony, conservative fingernails. She will hate the majority even more because they... are... in... control.
I just find this whole thing amusing as hell.
Anyway, I seem to post more pictures of Big Seig than Lily, so today I'll leave you with one of the lovely Lady Lillian.

With just a glimmer of Biggie's back.

Friday, March 30, 2018

Well, today's Friday and for once this is actually the end of the week for me.  That's rare in retail.  Weekends tend to be our busiest times, especial going into spring. Tomorrow will be busy - lots of customers stopping in to buy tulips, or daffodils, or iris', for Wives, and Moms, and Grannies.  That's fine with me, I'm not working.
My sister-in-law is doing some sort of Easter family thing tomorrow - I'm going to text her my apologies.  I'm going to my sisters on Sunday (picking up my Mom first) and that will be enough.  I need at least one day off during the weekend to get things done - chores, you know?  Things like dusting, and vacuuming, and cleaning up the yard ( I have big dogs, remember).
I did ride a bit over 10 miles this AM - about 5 miles in I had to pause for about 30 seconds to reposition... let's say there was a private pinching going on behind the spandex.
There was an interesting article on the Idiot Jerk and his staffing his administration.  The gist of the thesis was that loyalty is what he looks for, a candidate can be as inexperienced, uneducated, and incompetent as hell and none of that matters.  The only thing that counts is loyalty.  The Idiot Jerk is only interested in people who will suck the gas from his ass.
Sunday is both Easter... and April Fools Day.... just think about it.
A friend of mine sent me a funny and so I thought I'd share it with you.

The only problem I'm having with it is the big tits bit.  That is... well... way TMI about the Idiot Jerk.

A Shoe In

Okay, so there are these 2 associates I work with ( well, not directly, but in the same building) who are rabid supporters of the Idiot Jerk in the White House.  Both claim to be Christians....  One is a member of the Branch sect (you know, the same crazy group as David Koresh), and the other is... well, he's a nice guy, but he's definitely gone around the bend with a different sect of Evangelicalism (he claims Catholics are Phony Christians).  Yesterday they were in the back aisle complaining about the... Democrats.  And I had to smile.  Their anger puts an ugly brand upon their beliefs, one that they use their own hatred to justify.  They have specialized their own perversion of Believing to the point where normal can only exist if it's an extreme.  This is why they'll fail.  They're already bitter, the failure of the Idiot Jerk will only entrench them farther outside the circle of acceptable behavior.  This is how evolution happens.  We are actually watching survival of the fittest, and the strongest, and that which is most adaptable.  These people are not making a lot of babies.  Ooops.
Anyway, today is Thursday.  This is my 4th day at work.  I looked at the new schedule and my vacation requests have been approved, and... in two weeks I have 4 days off in a row.  I'm hoping the temperature warms up enough outside to actually go for a ride on the new bike.  And, for the first time since I started riding bike again, 14 years ago, I'm thinking of buying myself some cycling shoes.  I was thinking of buying Pearl Izumi, mostly because I like the name, but the Louis Garneau Copals have really solid and positive feedback.  Besides, the Francophile in me sees the name Louis Garneau and wilts.  Mon Dieu! Je n'a pas du choisir.

They also come in red... one of my favorite colors, but damn it, they're shiny.  Now, I don't know about you, but I get a really bad feeling when it comes to wearing shiny shoes.  To me shiny = patent leather.  I can see the Idiot Jerk in the White House wearing patent leather shoes, using them like mirrors so he can see up skirts.  That does sound about his level, doesn't it?

Fly this plane

Well for once this is my 'hump' day.  Now, how unusual is that?  Working Monday thru Friday with the weekend off is almost unheard of in retail.  Of course next week I have split days off - something I really don't like at all.
And, of course, this is Easter weekend.  My sister's birthday is also on the 29th.  She's having some sort of Easter lunch so I'll take her a bottle of wine.  I asked what she preferred, red or white?  She said it didn't matter, no preference just as long it's not Thunderbird.
I see that the Stock Market is continuing its slow, downward spiral.  You don't hear the Idiot Jerk tweeting about how he's responsible, do you?  Don't worry, you will during mid-terms when Centrist and Liberal Democrats want to remind voters.  Isn't this what always happens to braggarts?  The truth will always bite them in the ass.
Oh, and Trey Gowdy, from the Benghazzi Hate Club recently tweeted at the Idiot Jerk, "stop complaining and start acting innocent," or something to that effect.  This is the same Trey who's not running for re-election.  Trey probably knows there was collusion at the highest levels.  I suspect he also knows the Democrats will take the majority during the mid-terms and investigations will explode all over the place.
Big Seig is out barking at a big truck.  He likes to bark at them.  Lily?  Not so much.  UGI seems to be planning on digging up the street in front of my house.  Yippee....
And I played about an hour and a half of Far Cry 5 last evening, and have just started to meet the characters.  I can't wait until I get to know Nick Rye.

Remember when video game characters actually looked animated?  You know, like those surrounding the Idiot Jerk in the White House?  Now they look like real people.  So, tell me, would you like to fly Nick's plane?

Tuesday, March 27, 2018

Today is Tuesday, March 27, any my deluxe edition of Far Cry 5 has downloaded into my Xbox One.  I also get to work today - one of those little things I still need to do.
So, would you like to take on the Alt-Right?  That's what you get to do in Far Cry 5 after an Alt-Right Crazy Christian group takes over Hope County, Montana.  Can you think of anything that might be more dear to a Liberal's heart?  Of course, this is all fiction, a video game, and those on the Right don't like it one bit.  They look bad, but then most people know they are bad.  I'm the one with the beard, of course.  Facial hair, you know?

Oh, and that's not Big Seig with the hunting rifle in his mouth, Seig's more interested in farting pigs.
I guess a lot of people are taking abut Stormy's 60 Minute interview... not me.  I'm glad she's fighting back, but the last thing I want to hear about is the Idiot Jerk in the Missionary position.  Let's be honest here, she didn't have sex with him because he was attractive, rather, she was expecting some sort of reimbursement.  He's been paying to have sex for years because... well, that's the only way he can get it.  Now, I'm going to have to change the subject before I vomit up my morning toquitos.
Free weights were on the agenda this AM.  I did a total of 340 reps, total poundage lifted was 6417.  This is all being done with 12, 15, 20, and 25 pound dumbbells.  I like them better than using the bar.  They take up a lot less space.  Right now my shoulders and arms are really swelled.  When I look in the mirror I have to laugh.  Who ever would thought that my having muscles could be funny.

When pigs fly

Well, I get to go back to work today - for 5 days in a row.  I'm not excited.  Not one bit.  But these things happen.
Supposedly the Idiot Jerk is going to kick out several Russian diplomats today.  He no doubt approval from his buddy Vlad before doing so - you know, to give the appearance of legitimacy.  I suspect the Idiot Jerk's been told that if he goes too far Putin will throw his ass under the bus, or in front of a bus, or maybe he'll just leak the golden shower video tapes.  Now that's something we all wouldn't want to see, is it?
This AM I also managed to get 5 miles in on the bike.  Yesterday there was a Rouvy update and I had connectivity issues, my Cyclops Magnus kept losing it's connection.  This morning that problem appears to have been fixed.
Oh, and Devin Nunes, that Robo Republican from California is apparently have election issues.  He's being challenged... and it seems that his supreme loyalty to that pro-Russian, the Idiot Jerk, is hurting him.  Don't you think the part where they report the Idiot Jerk carrying Nune's district by 10% funny?  I think the Idiot Jerk carried Conor Lamb's district by 16%... or maybe it was a bit more.  Well, what do you expect, the GOP is the minority party.  I keep hoping to hear  Nune's say something like "I'll lose this election when pigs fly."
And, speaking of flying pigs - the dogs got a new toy... or, perhaps I should new toys:  Flying pigs!

They make a farting sound when squeezed.  Each dog got one.  With two of them going at the same time, yesterday afternoon erupted like a flatus festival.  Of course, Seig broke his by pulling out the farter.  I made a temporary fix by shoving it back in... to no avail.  He pulled that damn farter out again.  Now, Lily's pig farts and his just makes a waffling sound.  It wouldn't surprise me if Devin Nunes sounds a lot like Seig's pig, running around making waffling sounds as he loses his bid for re-election.  Waffle, waffle.  Waffle, waffle.

The Good Life

Well, today is Sunday and I don't have to work.  I did get in 52 minutes of weight training, burning off 326 calories.  This afternoon, after I get back from visiting my Mom, I'll get in, hopefully, a nice, long bike ride.
Yesterday hundreds of thousands of Americans took part in the March For Life.  I had two customers come in who had been to the one in Harrisburg.  She showed me pictures they'd taken and I found myself tearing up.  Our unification is growing.  They said there were about 1500 people there.  Attendance would have been higher but geography got in the way.  Harrisburg is very centrally located.  Washington DC is only 75 minutes away, in fact it's closer than Philadelphia.  The turn out in Washington was Immense!
One of the major themes at every march was the need to get out and vote.  Vote.  Vote!  Vote!!
And, of course, there were a lot of Democrat politicians in attendance.  Few, if any, Republicans showed up, not that anybody expected them to participate.  They spit out phony words about respect but worried about infringing upon the 2nd Amendment rights, really what they were saying was that NRA campaign donations are far more important.  They believe voters can be bought by television ads, and (possibly) Russian hackers.  They will not understand until they get voted out of office.
Even then they will not understand.  This is a party that has spent decades lying to themselves.  They claim to be the party of Lincoln without understanding how far they've evolved in the opposite direction, becoming self-centered and hateful.  Getting voted out of office will not educate them.  They will never understand how wrong they are.  They will die out like the dinosaurs, but will leave no fossilized remains.
Anyway, this is Sunday.  My day of rest... well, not exactly.  But I do plan doing some enjoyable things.  Yes, riding a bike is fun.  Move forward.  Ride on.  Live the good life.  Ain't it great!

Lack of substance

Well, it looks like the weekend is here.  How do I know?  The Idiot Jerk in the White House flew down to Florida for a game or two of golf.  I, myself, have to work today, of course I do have tomorrow off.  For the next three weeks they have me scheduled 40 hours each week.  Sorry, but this is spring and there's things I need to do, so I've started requesting one vacation day per week; 32 hours per week is fine for me.
I have this new bike, you know, that I want to ride outside, in the sunshine, over hill and Dale...  well, maybe not Dale, I don't know anyone by that name.
One of the many things I need to do is plant the new Itoh peonies I bought.

That's right, they're yellow.  My garden seems to be filling up with roses and peonies, which is fine with me.  Oh, and tulips and daffodils - I've got a boat load of each blooming every year.  There's also wisteria around the front porch which I'm probably going to rip out, and a holly bush down at the end of the sidewalk in need of some very serious trimming.
And didn't the Stock Market like... well, tank yesterday?  Bloomberg has called it a horror week.  Oops.  But then what more could you expect from the Idiot Jerk.  He has lost several fortunes because of his flawed business principles.  His ethics are geared towards his personal greed.  For whom will a Trade War be most beneficial?  The country... or the Idiot Jerk.  What you really need to do is examine who's going to come out better financially.  Oh, and also keep in mind the Idiot Jerk has no sincere concern for the average American.  They are little more than fodder.
Time is running out and that Crazy Conservative group of minorities is totally clueless.  They've fudged the numbers so many times their fiction is now their preference.  Fiction is not solid.  Flexible words are easy to spin when they have little weight, or substance to ground them.

Dave's Axiom

Well, here it is Friday.  I had a fitful night of sleep.  The dogs needed to go out twice, once at 11:30 and a 2nd time at 3:20 - that's very odd for them.  There were dreams that were odd as well, including time spent in some sort of institution where the head nurse had some sort of shrubbery growing out of her head, and talking on a totally clear flip phone to someone named Brian.  Brian had a last name and I Googled him... he actually does exist (creepy) since the last name is also rather odd.  What's in a dream?  Hell if I know.
Anyway, the stock market dropped yesterday.  It might bounce back today, not that it's going to make any difference.  In case no one has noticed, the Dow has been trending downward for quite some time now.  While there is always a bit of a recovery, nothing seems to be stopping the slide - this was to be expected.  We have an Idiot Jerk in the White House who has 4 bankruptcies on his resume.
Also, 69 year old John Bolton has accepted a temporary position with the administration - highlighting the words 'temporary position' is important.  Hard Right Conservatives are tickled pink... sorry, wrong color.  Tickled black might be more appropriate... or blood red (another good color).
And then there are the trade wars (key ominous music).
You have to remember that those making these decisions are, for the most part, totally unaffected by them.  Average Americans will pay the price.  Should the Idiot Jerk and Bolton start a physical conflict you can bet no Trump or Bolton blood will be spilled.  Economically speaking, it's the Average American who will be taking the hit on the chin.  The country is being run by a group of people who are older and who are 'living the dream'... one that was popular in the late 50's and early 60's.  Those who put the Idiot Jerk in power still want to live 'that dream.'  They don't understand time changes everything.  Evolution never stops.
They will never understand Dave's axiom:  A popular president can move the country to either the left or the right, an unpopular president will always move the country in the opposite direction.  This was a lesson they should have learned from... the 60's, a time in which Liberalism exploded across the national scene.  Of course, being conservatives, they will never learn.

The Kiss

Well, it snowed yesterday.  I got 10 inches.  Most of my neighbors went out and shoveled before it had stopped falling... not me.  My sidewalk and driveway were cleared off this morning.  Today's free weight day and shoveling snow is a great way to get some free cardio as well as a nice warm-up.  This means I'm typing this in between sets of hammer curls.
Yesterday I also rode the Concord route again.  The Rouvy app I have is linked to my Strava account.  Strava is an app that tracks both runners and cyclists.  To my surprise, I got a "thumbs up."  No one has ever acknowledge a ride before, so I checked out the individual.  It was this chick.  I looked up her profile.  So far she's run a little over 33 miles this year.  In her most recent photo (there was only one) the camera was pointed directly at her ass.... and all she was wearing was some sort of leather harness.  She probably just saw the Concord ride and thought she might drum up some business.  Now, why couldn't that have been a Chris Hemsworth look alike?
And, of course, now we know that the Austin bomber was a seriously conflicted young man.  He was a conflicted young man who was home schooled by a family that "prayed a lot."  Raising children is a complicated process.  His conflict did not just start four weeks ago, he's been suffering for a long time.  Perhaps if his parents had spent less time praying and more time parenting two people would not be dead.  I have no doubts that when it comes to pointing the finger of responsibility his parents will direct it at Satan.  Isn't that always their answer.  They will never understand those deaths now hang on their shoulders.  In their minds they did the right things.  They turned to Jesus.  They expected Him to be a better parent than they were.
And yesterday, with the snow falling, the dogs would go out... then they'd come in... and then they'd go out again.  Every time they came in I dried them off with a big, fluffy, green towel.  They loved it.  Any way, I got to thinking that I'd never taken a selfie with them and thought yesterday would be good time.  What a disaster.  They're both hams.  They'll be perfectly quiet... until the camera comes out, then they never stop moving.  I finally got Seig on the sofa, and finally got him to kind of stay still, and just as I snapped the picture, he gave me  big kiss.

One rule to keep in mind, if you ever get that close to Biggie.... keep your mouth closed.

Wednesday, March 21, 2018

Well, it's Wednesday and it's still snowing.... still.  The dogs are loving it.  They run around outside and when they come in I drive them off with a big, green fluffy towel.  They love that, too.
"Vertigo" is playing at my local AMC this evening - I'd like to go but probably will skip the show.  Not because of the snow, more because the last time I watched it I found it uncomfortably creepy.  Jimmie Stewart stalking Kim Novak while mentally unraveling.  The way he dresses her up like the dead Madelaine, where she's just a shadow of what he's looking for.

Her business suit is actually grey, the green light is from a neon light outside the hotel room

And Hitchcock lit that scene in squeamish green, a favorite color of his in this film.  "Vertigo" is considered his masterpiece, and many consider it the best film ever made.  He forces your eyes to move, to focus on the specifics he wants you to see.  Look at how he frames Kim Novak over, and over, and over again.

Anyway, the Idiot Jerk in the White House congratulate the dictator of Russia for winning another phony election.  And, of course, Sarah Scumbag tried to put some sort of spin on it, as did his supporters.  Interestingly enough, only a very small percentage of Americans feel he's leading the country in the right direction.  And that number seems to be sliding downward.  Oh, and I see that an ex-playboy bunny is getting in on the lawsuit action - another one he had to pay to keep her mouth shut.  Oh, my.  His reprehensibility just seems to be growing, and growing.  And evidently people are beginning to quit Faux News, calling the network a "propaganda machine" for the Idiot Jerk.  Oh, dear me.  This is sooooo uncomfortably funny.

Winter Storm Warning

Well, it's Tuesday, March 20, 2018... the first Vernal Equinox (first day of spring), well, not until 12:15 PM this afternoon... and we're under a Winter Storm Warning.  Isn't that nice?  I'm off today and tomorrow and the forecasters are calling for up to 10" inches... of snow.  Tonight the temperature is supposed to drop below freezing - that means it'll lay.  Free Cardio!  I'm off today and tomorrow so this temporary snowfall doesn't really effect me too much.  Well, maybe a little.  I was supposed to go to the movies this evening, that will probably be put on hold until Sunday.
And what about Cambridge Analytica?  This is just more proof that the Idiot Jerk in the White House is truly reprehensible.  What's actually rather sad for both he and the GOP is that with all the help they got from the Russians, Wikileaks, and now Cambridge Analytica, they could only get an Electoral College win; they lost the popular vote.  They are one entity.  The Republicans are going to let him do what ever he wants to do since objecting, or trying to control him would be admitting that they made a terrible mistake.  They would rather shoot themselves in the head first... which is what they're going to do.  Or, perhaps that's their plan... let him fire Mueller, create a constitutional crisis, and have the American People wipe that shit stain out of the White House.  That sounds more like them, you know?  Place the blame somewhere else and try to pass as much of their agenda as possible, get as many conservative appointments approved, before We The People take matters into our own hands.  But then Republicans have always been dumb fucks.
Anyway, I want to rush out to my neighborhood Giant before the snow starts - Bran Muffins are on the cooking agenda for this afternoon and I need brown sugar.
As for tomorrow?  Well, this might be me shoveling snow.

Though, actually... I'm a bit taller and don't have a beard.

Size matters

Well, here it is Monday - I get to go to work today - and then I'm off for 2 days. this is going to be a 32 hour work week for me so I don't care.  We're also supposed to be getting 3 - 6 inches of snow overnight.  That doesn't bother me either.
I had my 'bonus' meeting last evening.  The check was nice - not what I'm used to getting, but still it's money that I hadn't had before, however I did decide that it was probably my last.  I don't see any purpose in my going to the store for just an hour and a half every 6 months.
And yesterday I also had to deal with one of those customers who must have gotten a day pass from the asylum.  She had questions about tile.  Well, that's wrong, mostly she had observations.  Like are 12 inch tiles are not quite 12 inches, they're 11 3/4 inches.  We shouldn't claim that it's 12 x 12 when it wasn't.  Oh, and she had a tape measure.  That's right, she was measuring our tiles.  I informed her that sizing takes into account the fact that there will be grout, usually around 1/8" on all sides.  She didn't like that answer.
Then she asked where our 16 inch tiles were, stating "you say online that you carry 16" tiles."  We do, one style.  When I showed it to her she exclaimed "well, why wouldn't you carry more styles?  Just one style doesn't make sense!"  So.... I explained.  Contractors and customers prefer to work with square footage, it makes things much easier, not only with buying tile, but with arranging them on the wall or floor.  We sell 3", 4", 6", 9", 12", 18" and 24" tile because it's easier to calculate square feet.  A 16" tile is 1.77 square feet and that number complicates things.  She didn't like that answer either, and evidently she'd been in 2 other departments, asking the same type of questions, before she got to flooring.  Taking her tape measure, she left in a huff, no doubt planning an online expose' on how are signage is deceitful.  It isn't.  There's a reason.  You just need to think.

And speaking of size, there's a sizable number of Americans who want the Democrats to control Congress - they understand that's the only way to deal with the Idiot Jerk in the White House until he is legally removed from that position.  Of course this infuriates his base.  They don't care about democracy.  Nor do the care about America.  They only want to dictate.  The time has come to Take America back from the assholes.

Sunday, March 18, 2018

Well, here it is, Sunday morning and the dogs are chasing each other around downstairs with a squeaky toy - probably one of the purple squirrels.  Of course, they don't know that it's a purple squirrel, they're dogs, all they know is that when they squeeze it in their mouths it squeaks.  Needless to say, even though they have several purple squirrels (and a purple chipmunk) they're only interested in one at a time.
Did my weight training this AM.  40 Minutes - not bad.  For good measure I threw in some squats... I hate squats, however, they do help to keep the buttocks shapely.
I also have a weird schedule today.  Split shift.  This evening is our Success Sharing meeting - that's when we get our bonus checks.  Normally, because I have Direct Deposit, I can see what's going into my account before I even get the check (deposit notice), but not this time.  They're keeping it secret.  I hope that means it's going to be a good one, I need to start moving money into my 'tax' account for this year's real estate taxes.
About a year ago I started putting words together, fiction.  I've started giving bits and pieces out to friends to get some sort of feedback.  This may get interesting.

An attractive, well kept lawn
My friend Patty's birthday was yesterday... that's right, she was born on... St Patty's Day.  For a birthday present she'll get a free movie.  She's said something about wanting to see Death Wish (heavy duty sigh).  Rotten Tomatoes gives it a paltry 17% rating - that's not good.  So maybe I'll take he to see "The Greatest Showman," which, surprisingly, is still playing.   If that's what we see, it'll be the first time I've every paid money to see a Zac Efron movie...  actually, I don't think I've ever seen a Zac Efron movie and I'm wondering if, perhaps, maybe I should remain chaste in regard to this one.

Shut... Up

So, I see that Jeffy (the Keebler Elf) has finally sold his soul to the Idiot Jerk in the White House, not that his blackened stain of a hear was worth much.  And the Idiot Jerk wants to sue Stormy Daniels for $20 million - but then this also is what that shit stain of a human being has always done.  There's a difference this time, however, the McMaster firing and the Daniels lawsuit are all going very, very public.  And it's not sitting well with a number of people.  But then, this is Republican stupidity at its height.  The time has come to vote them into oblivion.
Hackers are at the gates of power girds, and utilities and, of course, the Idiot Jerk doesn't care.  I suspect the only thing that will really bother him will be when he's pilloried on the White House lawn so people can pelt him with rotten eggs.  This will happen.  The sooner, the better.  How do I know?  Even Trey Gowdy is breaking with the GOP.  Stating that the Russians were directly involved in trying to get the Idiot Jerk into the White House, they indirectly imply that there was collusion.  Of course, I've said before, I suspect this to be the main reason he's not running for re-election.  He knows the hammer is going to come down hard on the GOP as Americans vote them into oblivion.
The time has come to take back our country from the Crazies on the Right.
Shut them up and shut them down.
We do this by taking back the House and the Senate.  The easiest way for this to happen is to regionalize the party and then isolate the regions.  No more purple states.  Blue forever.
For years Social Conservatives have been saying there's a war against Christianity.  The time has come to start calling that lie out.  Tell them to shut up.  The only war is the one they, themselves have started.  When some one fool says "It's against my religion," just tell them to shut up.
In fact, that's a very good first step in shutting them up and shutting them down.  Just say "shut... up," and make sure you include that little pause between those 2 words.  No profanity.  Just 2 words.  "Shut... up."  Do that a couple of times and you'll get to see a Republican brain explode.

Pump it up

Well, today is Friday and that seems a bit odd.  I get to go back to work today.  I'm starting a 4 day stint until my next 2 days off.  Next week I'm only scheduled for 32 hours, which is fine with me.  After that, however, it looks like I'll be doing 40 per week.
I see that the Idiot Jerk's spawn is divorcing.  So, like what's odd about that?  He'll end up buying some other bottled blonde, trophy whore who will pop out another couple of spawn.  Just because they have money doesn't mean they're not breeders.  In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if that wasn't part of the pre-nup.  You know, the more eggs that get fertilized, the bigger the settlement... there's always going to be a settlement.  Like clockwork, you know?
Outside, it's snowing.  You have to keep in mind that we're still in winter, for another week or so.  Last year, here in Central Pa, we got 3 feet of snow around this time.  This is just flurries.  Of course, that doesn't stop me from looking to see if the trees have started to bud.  My tulips are coming, so are my daffodils.  You just can't keep Mother Nature down.
Speaking of mothers, I went to see mine yesterday.  She's fine.  I'd gotten a call from her a couple of days ago.  She needed batteries for her remote.  When I got there, the old batteries were on one of her end tables.  She told me she hadn't been able to watch TV for a few days.  So, I asked her, why she wasn't using the remote my sister bought her a month ago.  It was sitting right beside her phone, so I picked it up and gave it to her.  Voila.  She can watch TV again.  For those who don't know, this is how dementia works.  That, and what she talks about is a combination of old memories mixed up with a lot of fiction.
I was going to try and get a bike ride in yesterday afternoon but ended up working on this other project.  My thoughts were that I'd get it in this AM... however the dogs got me up at 0430 and I ended up taking a little nap afterwards.  Luckily I did get in 40 minutes of free weights.  Holy Mackerel, my biceps are getting bigger!  Who'd have thought?

Not mine

Just thinking... maybe I'll pump it up tomorrow and take a picture.

Role Model Hell

Well, yesterday wasn't as full as I was expecting it to be, at least not here.  Translation:  I didn't get as much accomplished as I wanted, basically because I had breakfast with my brother.  Breakfast for me is normally oatmeal.  As a result of the omelet, hash browns, and toast, I ran my errands to Giant, and to Dick's, and then turned into a slug.  I got out the wallpaper steamer, but, alas, spent not a second stripping. I did, however, spend some time on another project I've been working on.  I'll talk about that at a later date.
Anyway, I guess the GOP are trying to put a crooked face on Saccone's loss out near Pittsburgh.  I'm sure the Idiot Jerk in the White House would have splutter something incomprehensible if one of his sycophants hadn't shoved a Big Mac in his mouth and handed him a diet Coke.  Publicly they're saying Lamb won against a bad candidate... one whom the Idiot Jerk praised in an appearance there last Sunday (just saying).  Privately they're scratching their heads and asking themselves "why don't people like us?"
Interestingly enough, an opinion at NBC News answered that very question this morning.  About half way down 2 words jump out:  Role Model.  Conor Lamb stands for calm intelligence, rational behavior, and an astute awareness of what the voters want, and therefore represents the type of Role Model parents want for their children.  Rick Saccone and the Idiot Jerk are at the opposite end of the spectrum, the rectum, so to speak.  Do you really think parents what their children to grow to be like the Idiot Jerk?  Well, perhaps some, those with a trash mentality.  For the most part, however, that person in the White House represents the best in America.  Up until the Idiot Jerk, the President has always been a Role Model children were encouraged to look up to, but all that changed in 2016.  Now we have a pussy grabbing, three times divorced, porn star banger, foul mouthed scumbag sitting in the Oval Office.  The Roll Model from Hell managed to get himself elected.  The time has come to throw out the trash and Conor Lamb and Doug Jones are showing us how to do it.

The Lamb effect

It's Wednesday... and I don't work, which is fine with me.
The agenda for today is overloaded: breakfast with my brother, grocery shopping, a bike ride, and stripping (wallpaper).  Notice I included (wallpaper) to dispel any visions of sugar plums dancing in your heads.
For those interested, the gel riding shorts I bought at Dick's are far more comfortable than the ones I bought from Baleaf... so, since I have a coupon from Dick's I'll go and buy another pair this afternoon.
Also, another bit of news from the western part of the great state of Pennsylvania.  Evidently there's been a bit of an upset.  The reprehensible Republican, Rick Saccone, is writhing with contempt, because the moderate Democrat has gotten the majority of votes.  For Saccone, this was supposed to be a sure thing.  The district was overwhelmingly conservative, and the Idiot Jerk had won it by 19% - 20% during the 2016 election.  Yet Conor Lamb is leading Saccone by at 641 votes, and that gap continues to widen.  News organizations are now beginning to call the election, Lamb's favor.  As might be expected, Saccone has said that his "legal team" is already on it, looking for a way to steal back the election.

Even Fox News, in an article that seems surprisingly neutral, appears to concede.  I liked the bit where they note that Lamb and Saccone may "face off again in November," but only maybe since the state Supreme Court ruled that Republican gerrymandering of the state was unconstitutional.
The wave continues to grow.

Phonies among us

Well, it's Tuesday.  This is my 6th day working.  I'm off tomorrow, won't that be nice?  And Thursday!
So back on Sunday I had this young couple come in, they're going to be selling their house and want to new carpet installed.  She was all about how they wanted to make sure the new home owners had decent carpet, not top tier, but definitely not bottom of the barrel, and they want to take advantage of our free installation program.  After looking around, they settled on a cheap $1.00 per square foot carpet (bottom of the barrel).  Padding was supposed to be a nice, medium grade... and, of course, they went for the cheapest we sell.  For some reason, when I did their estimate, they were charged an installation charge.  They didn't like that, so we said we'd try and figure out why.  Yesterday she called to see if we'd found out why our estimator was including the charge, and she was all rancid, honey sweet, saying things like "That carpet color is just perfect with our paint," and "That texture would really pop in our living room," and "I know this is upsetting for you," and... well you get the picture.  She's a phony sack of shit.  They're going as cheap as possible.  I know why they're getting an installation charge:  normally that carpet is a lot cheaper.  The price was raised so customers could use it for the free installation... and there's a slight glitch.  The estimator still qualifies it as being too cheap.  Today I'll call her and tell her the truth, though I won't tell her she's a cheap sack of shit.  Oh, and to make her phoniness even worse, she ended her phone conversation by saying "and you have a blessed day."
Oh, and today there's also a special election out in the western part of the state to replace a Republican scumbag.  Evidently the Republican, some phony named Saccone, is lagging in the polls.  How desperate is this phony?  Well, he's starting ripping whole chapters out of the Roy Moore play book shrieking things like my opponents hate the Idiot Jerk (so true), they hate families (??? I know Republicans hate Muslim families, and interracial families, and same sex families, but Democrats and Independents don't), oh... and the hate God.  Can you smell the desperation?  We'll have to wait and see how this plays out.
And finally, for a bit of levity, if you haven't seen the Betsy DeVos interview done for 60 minutes, you really should, just for the hooting hell of it.  This woman is dumb as a fucking brick.

Money can't buy you intelligence, nor can it keep you from being a phony.

Monday, March 12, 2018

Ah, Monday, my 5th day in a row.  Isn't it amazing how fast time flies.
I yelled at my boss yesterday - not my store manager boss, my department supervisor boss.  He has a bad habit of disappearing.  He's a nice guy... with some aging issues.  He's 47 and totally not dealing with aging.  He divorced his wife, pretty much stopped talking to his 4 kids, and got himself a girlfriend 21 years younger than himself.  He also has other issues compounding this problem.  Saturday he'd told me that he'd needed to take off work 3 times for mental stress, and that once he'd been hospitalized for a week for dementia.  That's right, and he managed to get himself into a management position.  Yesterday, the department was starting to get busy and he was nowhere to be found.  So, I went searching, and found him texting his girlfriend in the 'kitchen design' department.  I told him he was needed in the department.  And he said, "oh, I think you can handle it."  And I said, "your thinking doesn't count when you brag about being mentally ill, we need you in the department now."  This is life.  He went to the department.  What can I say.  He makes jewelry out of bicycle chains so I'd say that somewhere in his path he took the wrong career path.
This morning's ride took me up to the Boston area, 9.8 miles, and I ended up near Concord which was interesting since the last time I was there I was playing Fallout 4, battling super mutant and ghouls.  It's in Concord that you get your first set of power armor and have to kill your first Deathclaw.

Of course, that's a game.  It's not real, so there's not a lot of accountability.  That's something some people will never understand.

Roll This

Well, not only is it Sunday, but we moved the clocks ahead an hour.  I didn't get up at my standard 0500 because that would have meant getting up at 0400 (if time hadn't shifted).  The end result is that today is now a rest day, as far as working out (well, I may do some weighted crunches before I go to work).
Evidently China is on its way to getting an emperor again.  They've had one for millennia so for them this is almost genetic.  How this will play out for the country?  I have no idea.  We'll all to wait and see.
The Idiot Jerk was out near Pittsburgh yesterday - they're having a special election to replace some Republican moron named Murphy, a minor scumbag who had his mask ripped off.  What the GOP had thought of as being a sure thing, isn't going so well for them.  The replacement Republican is apparently several sizes to large and that shoe looks like it might fall off.
I designed and sold some shades, and, or, blinds to several different people yesterday.  For those who don't know, there is a difference between a shade and a blind.  It's complicated.  Shades, for the most part, are composed of cells.  Blinds are either slats or rollers.  Solar Shades are actually Roller Blinds.
Anyway, one of my customers was a nice woman whose son, in his early 30's, had bought his first home and... moved out.  She told me he was very nervous, mostly because he now had a mortgage and bills to pay.  I've met him.  He seems like a nice man who, to be blunt, needed to be kicked out of the house.  His Mom is so happy, she bought him $1500 in roller blinds, brown, cordless, and with no valances (she doesn't like them).

Cordless roller shades, no valances
She also told me that he started "warming up" to his new home once he saw the rooms with some furniture in them...  Of course, she's having the blinds shipped to her house because he works during the day.  Oh, and his new home is a 'condo' with 6 windows - that's it.  I find that odd because my house has 14 windows and light floods in on sunny days.  Her son must have bought a cave.

Using Cyrus

Saturday - after today I'll be half way through my 6 day stint.  And I'm back to 40 hours per week... no problem, just extra buckos in the bank.  Tax season's coming up which is not as painful for us in East Pennsboro as for those in surrounding townships.  A number of large corporations have their central offices here, like Delta Dental, and Highmark, to name just two.  They just finished building a brand, spanking new hospital only 2 miles away.  I also get a bit of a discount because my house is considered "historic."  A prime example of how there is a lot of value in 'old age.'
I saw that Martin Shkreli was sentenced to 7 years in jail yesterday, and not one of those "summer camp jails," rather one with real criminals, who are going to desire intimate relations with his ass.  One article I read said that he was 'tearful.'  Did anybody get a picture of Shkreli crying?  If so, copies should be sent to every one of the people his pricing policies screwed over.  Welcome to the real world shit head.  His Karma was soooo bad.
And let me say a little about Cyrus, the Great.

You don't know this, but he bears a striking resemblance to my friend Levi, that's about as far as it goes, however.  Why do I bring up Cyrus?  Because there are Crazy Christians out there who are comparing the Idiot Jerk in the White House to him.  Prophecy, you know, Jerusalem, and moving the American Embassy there.  The Idiot Jerk fed this belief by quoting Cyrus.  This is one of the reasons Evangelicals let him get away with banging porn stars - he's special.  He's fulfilling prophecy is what they believe.  They don't understand this is also how you manipulate a specific group of people.  This is how evil works, gives you what you want.  Slyly, of course, so you don't realize you're selling soul.  This is how you manipulate people to do your beck and call.  The Idiot Jerk wants them to believe.  To be perfectly honest, he's not even close to being smart enough to think this up by himself.  Someone as devious as Netanyahu is, though, and he and the Idiot Jerk seem to be the best of friends.  Can't you hear Bebe whispering in the Idiot Jerk's ear "Use Cyrus to manipulate them.  Use Cyrus."

Big Sexy Hair

Friday! After today I'll only have 4 more days of work.  The store was relatively dead yesterday, which is surprising since this is the time of year when things begin to pick up.  Things were busier 3 weeks ago when there was all the chat about the temporary tax break the middle class was going to be getting.  I guess people started realizing that most are not going to be getting lottsa extra cash in their pay checks.
And I read an interesting article this before my morning bike ride.  The truth is America has a serious problem with slackers, not in regard to work, rather in fitness.  We are constantly being reminded... and warned, about getting fatter.  Doing less physically directly relates to aging, and the issues you, as an individual will have to deal with as you get older, and older.  Your muscles are yours to lose.  Does anybody really want to be old and frail?
Anyway, the tariffs are now a done deal.  However, if you start drilling into their wordage it doesn't take long to realize they're fairly superficial.  There are all sots of little loopholes, similar to the ones the rich are getting with their Tax Cut, which let American companies import aluminum and steel with little or now tariff.  Evidently exclusions are abundant.  Stop worrying about not being able to buy your Big Sexy Hairspray, you see, there's a work around, or an exclusion, or an exemption, what ever you want to call it.

And that exclusion is... are you ready for this?... National Defense.  The attorneys for American Aluminum Can (yes there is such a group) are hard at work.  And it's not just hair spray, these guys worry about soft drink, and beer... and, well anything that comes in an aluminum can.  And all of these products are essential for National Defense.  So, I'm wondering, how toothless are these tariffs going to be.  I'm betting the pompous turd in the White House used yesterday's signing ceremony just to fart a little pleasure towards his base.
Oh, and yesterday the Idiot Jerk had something else on his agenda.  He gathered a number of people together to discuss how violent video games create mass shooters.   Except this turned out to be closed door session.  And no one seems to be talking about what was said.  That rag for brain dead conservatives, The Drudge Report, failed to even hint such a meeting was happening.  I suspect this is because most of those involved with Drudge play video games and understand this is a generational issue, popular only with aging, non-gamers, you know?  Like the Idiot Jerk.
And why use Big Sexy Hair?  I wouldn't be surprised if that were the spray of choice for the failed president in the White House.

Thursday... and I get to go back to work... and I'll get to go back for 6 days in a row - no breaks.  Ah, well, that's life.
I rode 5 miles on the bike this AM.  It was okay.  I'm much better later in the morning or early in the afternoon.  This is one of my personal challenges, to hop on the bike at 0615 and ride for 12 - 15 miles.  This means that tomorrow morning I'm going to have to jump on the bike and ride at least 6 or 7 miles.
Saw some biting comments in Bloomberg yesterday about the Gary Cohn and his departure from the Idiot Jerk's administration; that he stayed long enough to give himself and his other billionaire buddies a permanent tax cut.
Oh, and I saw that Betsy DeVos walked out of a press conference down at Parkland... after taking 5 questions in about 5 minutes.  The students aren't happy because, she was only prepared to put in an appearance... photo-ops, you know?  What more can you expect from a clueless billionairess who was educated, to some small degree, at an expensive private school.  This woman will never understand that her net worth has little, if any, bearing on her intelligence.  This problem is almost pandemic among the wealthy.  She wears the concept of "I'm rich so I'm smarter than you," like a well fitting dunce cap, which means she's stylishly stupid.
When I went up to bed last night I'd found that both dogs had gotten there before me.  This is somewhat unusual in that Lily sleeps on the sofa till I head upstairs, and then follows me up.  However, last night, when I turned on the bedroom light, this is what I found.

That's a queen size bed, and as you can see, they didn't leave me a lot of room.

Drizzly time of year

Well, it's Wednesday, the last of my 4 days off, and we have snow... slight snow, barely covering the ground.  Last week they said 1-3 inches and we ended up with over 6.  This time they said we might get more than 6 and... well... we might get about 1/2 inch.  Forecasters had said we'd have snow from midnight last night until midnight tonight... now they're saying this weather event will be over sometime this afternoon.  Ooops.  There goes my free cardio.
The Idiot Jerk's administration lost another one, some guy named Cohn, and the hardliners are doing the happy dance.  Even when these fools look in the mirror and see pure stupidity they fail to understand.  Their economic plans are based on 80 year old models, or I suppose, to be more precise, they want things to go back to the way they were 80 years ago.  They think by setting up vintage trade policies they can turn back time, that the world will give them what they want; not going to happen.  They will never understand.  So, what do you do when those in charge fail to comprehend reality?  You take them out of power, give them jobs more suited to their capacities, like caddies.  I'm sure these people would find driving around in a golf cart and fetching balls rather fun.
I started watching "God's Own Country" last evening.  Inevitably I started making comparisons to "Brokeback Mountain," which isn't really fair.  I stopped it after about 40 minutes and will watch the rest... maybe later today.

I also want to get out the steamer and start taking down the boarder in the dining room.  It should come down fast.
I do wish it were sunnier out, of course, we are approaching spring; a drizzly, rainy time of year.

The Fan... the Birds... and Shooting Wieners

Ah, Tuesday.  I could really get used to working 32 hours a week, unfortunately we're beginning to move into our busy season, which means I'll be getting scheduled the requisite 40 hours of a full time associate.
Today's garbage day.  Yesterday I'd taken out the old ceiling fan and set it along the curb to be picked up this AM.  Well, it did get picked up.  Someone took the fan motor, but broke off the fan blades and left them behind.  This is life.
Anne Marie wanted to see pics of the new fan, so here it is:

And just think, it spins.

Looks like a jewel, doesn't it?

And it puts out a nice breeze

And at medium speed the blades open, the way a tulip blooms.  I will admit that I have thought tipping the petals with a little, color might add a bit of pizzazz.
Yesterday, as well, the birds came to town.... turkey buzzards.  We have a lot of them around here, and they are very big - probably 18 inches tall when standing up.  When I saw one sitting on the garage roof next door, I grabbed my camera and headed outside.  And, of course, the dogs went along to bark.

Lily Flies
As you can see by the shadows, all 4 of Lily's feet were off the ground.
And, finally, I have to say that I like Armie Hammer, in spite of his name.  He's a handsome man who for years has been trying to prove he can act.  Wisely, he got himself cast in a gay coming of age film and set the critics buzzing.  So, how does Armie celebrate?  Wear a red velvet tuxedo to the Oscar ceremony and run around with a hot dog cannon.

shooting wieners

Gimme a break... what's not to like?

The Shape of things to come

The new ceiling fan was mounted in the dining room yesterday.  Hanging it was fairly simple.  Attaching  the fan blades?  That was a pain in my ass, and took quite a bit of time:  you need to hold them in place with one hand and start the screws with the other... and of course you're doing this while standing on a ladder.  Now that it's up, I'm pleased.  The fan blades lift up when they spin.  At medium speed they raise a little over halfway and it does look like an opening tulip.
Last night Big Seig and I watched the Oscars... well, mostly he slept on the sofa.  Lilly went up to be early.  I thought they were entertaining.  I did think that the song "This is Me," from The Greatest Showman was better than the one from Coco.  I also would have liked to have seen Sally Hawkins take home the award, however, I pretty much knew that Frances McDormand had a lock on the Best Actress category.
I was pleased to see The Shape of Water take home the highest honor.  For most of the Academy's 90 years, only dramas won Best Picture... and musicals.  Fantasies were frowned upon.  Romance between races (read black and white) were almost taboo.  Before Sidney Poitier won his Oscar for In the Heat of the Night, he made a drama... a little thing called "A Patch of Blue," in which he fell in love with a white girl... who just happened to be blind.  And she needed to be blind, you know, she couldn't see his skin color because that would imply things.  The Shape of Water takes A Patch of Blue and turns it upside down.

The Shape of Water is the shape of things to come.  This is how life happens.  We grow.  We understand.  We include.

A Conservative's Wet Dream

Well, it's Sunday and it looks as if China is going to have an emperor again.  They've had one for millennium so I'm not surprised.  They flirted with democracy for almost a century and didn't care for the fit.  Democracy isn't for everybody.  Historically speaking, the vast majority of their emperors were good for the country.  Like the United Kingdom, which still has a Monarch, they are not going to eliminate democracy completely.  Xi will govern for life.
What made me guffaw was see that the Idiot Jerk in the White House said "we will have that too, someday," or something to that effect. That fool is dumb as a fucking brick.  Our democracy is almost 350 years old.  Democracy is all we know.  Of course, having a King, or a Monarch, or an Emperor is a Conservative's wet dream.  Just trying to imagine what tugs and pulls in Mitch McConnell's dreams is... frightening.  This is a group whose members swell and inflate with the mere anticipation of control.  Don't believe me?  Walk up to a Republican and say "Total Control is yours," and you'll see how freaking easy it is to get a rise out of them; no need to whip or beat these instant mashed potatoes to get them stiff.

Wait a minute... is that Paul Ryan?

Anyway, I'm off for the next 4 days.  Of course, I'm going to have to work 6 in a row after that, but that's okay, I don't mind.  Tomorrow is supposed to be filled with sunshine, so I'll probably change out the dining room ceiling fan... though I might take the old one down today.
In a few hours the Paris-Nice bicycle race is being telecast live on NBC Sports Gold, so that will be playing on the big TV downstairs.
And, of course, tonight are the Oscars.  Years ago I used to host parties... now it's just me and the dogs... well, mostly just me.  The dogs will be up in bed long before the Best Picture gets announced.  One funny thing to note:  last year Casey Affleck won for Best Actor.  This was after he'd been taken to, and I do believe settled, out of court for sexual harassment.  This year he's breaking with tradition and not going to give away the Best Actress Award... he's not even going to show his face at the ceremony.  What a scumbag.  Has his career tanked too?

Saturday, March 3, 2018

Well, here it is Saturday and the storm has come and gone.  We had horizontal snow which melted and some very high winds.  People lost power.  Not me.  Though the river birch I have planted in my back yard did lose a lot of branches.
The new ceiling fan arrived yesterday - in all of that wind.  I found it waiting for me on the front porch, too heavy to be blown around.  I unpacked it, checked to see if it uses the same mounting bracket as my current ceiling fan, and then went to bed... early.  Bad idea.  You see I woke up... early.  And since I was awake, I got up... another bad idea.  Even though I got things done, by the time 0530 rolled around, I was tired, wishing I'd stayed in bed.  As a result I took a nap, and ended finally getting up closer to 0700.  No cardio today.  Shit.
And last week was a banner week for cluster fucks at the White House.  The Idiot Jerk came out for gun control... and then an NRA lobbyist, evidently a new spokesperson for the White House, announced that the Idiot Jerk had not been serious.  Hope Hicks announced she's leaving... after chatting with Mueller...  they say she had a "misty" goodbye with the Idiot Jerk.  Jared lost his Top Secret clearance.  Jared is also under some serious investigation - selling White House favors in order to get financing for Kushner debt (lock him up!  lock him up!).  Oh, and the Idiot Jerk wants to start a Trade War.  Did I miss anything?
This past week we got to see the Idiot Jerk become "unglued."  He also Tweeted an attack against Alec Baldwin, who basically told him to wipe his ass and shut up.  That's was funny, too.
We also got to see resistance against the NRA growing.  And the Georgia legislature tried to punish Delta Airlines because they stopped giving discounts to the NRA.  Those Republican legislators from Georgia love the NRA so much they voted to exclude Delta from getting a tax break.  Delta, announced that they are going to review which groups get discounts.  Translation?  Legislators from Georgia will lose their discounts.
And anger towards the gun lobby is not dissipating, rather we see that it's growing and spreading, the boycott now including other products gun manufacturers sell... like surfboards.  People are finally telling these morons to shut up.  Good.  I suspect the NRA is on the verge of following the Idiot Jerk in the White House, also becoming unglued.
Finally, a bit of movie irony.  This Crazy Christian flick called "Samson" opened the same night as "Black Panther."  To date it has earned a little over $4 million at the box office, while "Black Panther" might actually hit $500 million this weekend.  So, who do you think is out of touch with the real world.  I suspect there's another group that's about to become unglued.

Moving stuff

So, what did I do yesterday since I called off from work?  Well, moved some stuff around.  A dresser that was in the walk-in closet got moved into the cycling / weight / computer room.  Almost everything that had been inside it is now in the trash:  Christmas cards, wrapping paper, ribbons among other things.
Biggie and the dresser

Weather wise, outside we have high winds and heavy snow - a N'or East'r is blowing past.  There might be some wind damage, branches down and the like, but nothing really to worry about in the area of the state.
There was this little article in Bloomberg regarding gun sales, and how they are tanking across the country.  Evidently good gun sales require a Democrat in the White House.  I doubt very much this is what they, and the NRA, anticipated.  Not one bit.  You see in their piss poor logic, the easier it is to buy a gun, the more people will buy them.  The fact that vast numbers of people see gun ownership as pointless has never even occurred to them.  They thought that with the Idiot Jerk in the White House, Oprah would want to weaponize the housewives of America.  You know?  "And you got a gun, and you got a gun, and you got a gun."  That ain't going to happen.
And what about Wall Street?  Did the stock market drop or what?  Brother, you ain't seen nothing yet.  Evidently the Idiot Jerk says that trade wars are good for the economy and easy to win....  This is from the loser who's had to declare bankruptcy 4 times.  I suspect there's going to be another drop in his approval rating, which is not the direction he wants it to move.

The Challenge

Well, here it is Thursday and I'm supposed to go back to work today, however... my stomach's a bit cranky... and it's not because I have to work.  There's some sort of short lived virus going around, so that might possibly be the cause.  Anyway, I haven't decided if I'm going in or not.
I went to see "Black Panther" last evening.  I liked it, a lot.  While wearing the trappings of a Marvel Comic film, like "Captain America - Civil War," the human drama at the heart of the story is what makes this movie great.  Chadwick Boseman is very good as the king who realizes change is essential, whose moments with his spiritual father sting with the rejection of the old ways.  Michael B. Jordan is also very good as the successful, CIA trained mercenary, who has lost himself in the angry, resentful chip upon his shoulder.  This is, in a way, the story of a number of black Americans, some who jump at the chance to take the reins, and others who expect to be driven, those who challenge, and those who blame.

And then there's the Idiot Jerk in the White House who, yesterday, shit all over gun control.  The gun lobby is calling him names while liberals are saying he's making great strides - I call bullshit.  He's done this before on immigration, played both sides because... well, I guess in his mind he's deal maker.  Nothing happened.  Immigration is still a shit storm.  The same thing will happen with gun control, which will amount to nothing.  What ever gun control we get will be the result of retailers: first Dick's, and now Walmart, setting their own restrictions on gun sales.
Also, for those who didn't see, Putin, the Idiot Jerk's preferred BFF, shit out some sort of comment about Russia now having an ICBM which makes all defense systems "meaningless."  Of course, the sack of shit in the White House will no doubt splutter out something stupid because... well, that's why Putin wanted him there, to be a Russkie stooge.  The fool Social Conservatives love so dearly to totally inept at dealing with world issues.
