Okay, so I got up early this morning. I'm having breakfast with my brother. He and his wife are getting their Christmas present: that nice wine cooler I no loner use. A microphone and an assortment of cords is also going to be included since... well, I don't need them anymore and he might put them to good use.
We're breakfasting at Denny's, which is just a hop, skip, and a jump from my retail home. Don't worry, there's no hopping, skipping, or jumping planned as an after breakfast exercise. Nope, I'm going to head on home, with a quick stop at my neighborhood Giant supermarket. Biggie's birthday is rapidly approaching. He was a Christmas Eve puppy. My big question is should I bake the cake or buy one? The ice cream will be bought. Maybe a spice cake? With cream cheese icing?
For those interested, the first draft of The Body in Repose should be finished either today or tomorrow. I'm looking forward to the rewrite. One of the changes planned is merging chapters 1 and 2, and adding a bit with a character named Trawley, he heads up the murder investigation department for the New Orleans police.
I find it interesting that we, the human species appear to be at a Crossroads. Some of us will make the correct decision and survive, others will be remembered only in history books as a people who failed to understand the importance of moving forward. Science and life are intertwining. Life and mythology are unraveling. We are a linear species moving towards a non-linear point of view.
