Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Here come the roses

And Wednesday has arrived.  Ours will be cool and breezy with the high climbing to the low temp of around 69 (F).  That's not bad, mind you, as we are less than a month into spring.  Long range forecasts have our temperatures hovering in the mid to upper 70s (F).  That would be nice, however I doubt if it's a realistic forecast.  Weather patterns change to easily, sometimes on a whim of Mother Nature.

My new schedule has me continuing in an old pattern, working Saturday, Sunday, and Monday and then having the rest of the week off.  That's fine with me.  I don't mind having those 4 days in a row to do whatever I want.  I wouldn't mind of it stayed this way for the rest of my tenure at the big, orange retailer.

I have yet to hear from Companions of Peace about picking up Biggie's ashes, so I will give them a call later this morning.

There are a few peaches in my peach tree; I wasn't expecting many this year since I cut it back so hard.  there are many shoots coming up around the base one of which will form the new trunk.

And my roses are really beginning to come into their own.

Yesterday was election day.  Republicans did not fare too well.  Jacksonville, Florida, in a major upset, now has a Democratic mayor.   In fact, Ronnie D's endorsements didn't do well in the state he wants to turn fascist.

In Pennsylvania, Democrats held the House of Representatives.  This is frustrating the Hell out of the Republicans; their message is not getting through to the masses.  It is only in rural Pennsylvania where they have a strong foothold.  That will never change.

    1. Yeah, now we know his endorsements are worth squat.

  2. Beautiful roses! Saw a news blurb about your employer, with their lowered sales expectations. It’s bogus to threaten employees re: sales quotas. I was delighted to see my old city Jax elect a woman, a Democrat, for mayor. She’s a very popular person there, has been for many years. I hope she shakes things up.

    1. Yeah, heard about our lowered expectations, they said it had to do with the cost of wood... they're not being totally honest.

  3. This weather is making the Gordon go absolutely insane. Everything is in bloom double. And the Roses! I think I've already deadheaded every rose bush once already that's never happened this early in May. Meanwhile my peonies are coming in now they look stunning.

  4. Your roses are gorgeous, Dave. Just gorgeous. I want some roses so badly, but finding the right spot to plant them has been a challenge.

What are your plans for Biggie's ashes? I've struggled over the last (almost) 3 years trying to decide what to do with our beloved Ginger's ashes. They're in a nice container in the closet beside a portion of my mother-in-laws ashes, that we also don't know what to do with!

    1. Honestly, all I do is stick the roses in the ground and they grow.

His ashes are being saved along with Gertie's and eventually Lily's, and then I'm going to have them mixed in with mine. At this point I don't know where they're going to end up at.

  5. Love the roses!
We are still in growing stage here. No buds or anything. I want to see if one of my roses survived winter. It was looking beaten up in November.
And Florida did give a surprise to those Repugs, no? Let's hope it keeps happening.

    XOXO

    1. We had a very mild winter here, cool but not cold and I think that helps.
